From Google News Search: "Merchant Services" Does anyone use propay merchant services? Q. Can you use their services if your entire business is "on the road" with trade shows? I noticed one rule in their contract that might prevent this. Also are they as good as they say they are? Do I need to purchase any credit card processing machine? such as the old "knuckle buster" machine? If not, how do I have a "hard copy" if I am going to process the transaction at home via the internet? Asked by Breezy3 - Mon Jul 21 13:49:03 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. I use propay for my home based business, you can use it over the phone or their website, I usually write the cc info on the customers receipt, such as cc#, expiration date, ccv# from back of the card, you will also need their zip code this helps with verification (actually best to use customers entire billing address). If you use the trial package for processing, it's a little pricey when you process the cc, and it is a flat fee when you transfer to your bank account. I usually wait until I have more than one transaction before I will transfer to my personal account. The only thing I don't like is that it normally takes 2-5 business days before you can transfer funds to your own account then there is another waiting period for that. … [cont.] Answered by Jeni G - Mon Jul 21 15:00:39 2008 Does anyone have experience with Merchant accout services? Indeed there are some very important questions you should ask, assuming you haven't already had the meeting... choosing a payment provider to accept credit cards is very important as I'm sure your aware, and signing up with a local bank can be great, although is typically more expensive. Questions to ask: 1. What are your rates going to be, on swiped cards, over the phone, and etc. A. Ask about gateway fee's, service fee's, equipment fee's and etc. Merchant providers like to charge people for tons of little fee's that can add up to hundreds per month. 2. Ask them how and when your batch will be settled. For instance will they pay you every 2-3 days, will it be at the end of the week/month? And will they have a rolling reserve (Hold 10-30 [cont.] Answered by Jeff Knows - Mon Dec 14 12:42:56 2009 credit card and merchant services?
Q. is it hard starting up a credit card and merchant service? anyone out there do this for a living? are you getting residual income? do you get turned down a lot by other businesses? Asked by cuong t - Tue Mar 11 11:19:43 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Hi, I work for a registered MSP for Visa and MasterCard (five and a half years now) and have done sales so I speak from experience. You can make good money but it won't happen right away. The real money comes from residual income on the merchants you acquire. Although you can make money from selling credit card terminals that will only be enough to put food on your plate while you build up your portfolio. As you build your portfolio your monthly income will grow accordingly. On average a typical merchant will make you about $25 per month. So when you are first starting off the residual income won't be enough to support you. But as your portfolio grows to about 100 merchants that residual income will now be $2500 a month or more which,… [cont.] Answered by stymiee - Tue Mar 11 13:44:33 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Merchant Services"
